Congratulations Cancer Survivors!
As a cancer survivor, you’ve just fought one of the hardest fights of your life – emotionally, physically, mentally and perhaps even spiritually – and came out on top!
While you may not feel like a winner right now, believe me when I tell you – you are!
My name is Marilyn Munkres and I can say this – because I’ve been there and I’ve experienced the emotional roller-coaster ride, the physical pain and the constant feeling of being scared of the unknown. I’ve experienced the toll the treatment to save my life took on me mentally and physically.
One thing stands out that helped me immensely on the long road to recovery, that helped me regain my self-esteem and confidence as well as make me all-around healthier, and that was the day a trainer convinced me to try Olympic weightlifting.
I not only tried Olympic weightlifting and fell in love with it; I embraced it whole-heartedly. But then, something odd began to happen. As I progressed through my training, I not only felt healthier and stronger physically, but I became clearer and more grounded mentally.
In fact, I gained so much in so many areas of my life from Olympic weightlifting, that I founded Lift4Life™ - to help others who are living with the after effects of cancer and cancer treatment.

My name is Tina and I am a 48 year old single woman who really began living at age 43. After my divorce I found myself again. I was introduced to the gym and my life changed. I was training for the Tri for a Cure when in a freak event I injured my neck getting out of bed. I had to have my neck fused, but it did not stop me, it just delayed it for a year. In 2011 I was on a relay team for the Tri for a Cure and I have not stopped since. I never thought I could do anything like that, but I was blessed with Evie Rae a wonderful coach who is knowledgeable, professional and very encouraging. I don't want my health issues to determine who or what I am...I want to be in control. When I was asked if I wanted to do the Lift4LifeTM program, my first thought was I can't do that. Boy was I wrong. I am enjoying the program. I have a new passion and plan to continue on. I have so much respect for the technical aspect and the strength training involved. I can see my body changing and I like it. I have met and made so many new friends, and have a positive outlook on my future. Try something you have never done before. You may just find a new love. I know I did. Our lives are always full of surprises. Some are great and some you work on turning great. If you get blessed enough to do the Lift4LifeTM program, it will be one of those great surprises in life.
